DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival in Cusco – Transfer to the Hotel (Lunch)

Welcome to Cusco! Upon arrival in the city of Cusco, our host will be waiting to assist you and transfer you to your selected hotel. (There will be a sign with your name and the logo of the Agency, so you can identify it.) Arriving at the hotel, they will offer you the famous coca tea that will help you acclimatize to the height of Cusco and other helpful tips. Rest of the afternoon free in the city of Cusco.

Day 2: Cusco – Archaeological City Tour: Temple of the Sun Qoricancha, Sacsayhuamán, Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay – South Valley of Cusco: Rumiqolqa, Tipon Inka temple dedicated to Water (Breakfast and Lunch)

We start our walk at 8:00 am. Pick up from the hotel and we leave in the direction of the South Valley of Cusco to visit Rumiqolqa, a pre-Inka fortress of imposing size that stands out in sight. Very close to there we visit Tipon, known as the Temple to Water, with impressive aqueducts and canals with good applied hydraulic engineering technique. Free time to take photos and tour the entire complex where the water sources coming from the top of the mountain stand out. During the return to the city we will be served a delicious lunch, to savor the rich and varied Peruvian food.

After lunch we begin our Archaeological City Tour, it will begin its journey to the Temple of the Sun Qoricancha, an ancient Inka palace worshiping the Sun god, which today is the Temple of the Dominican order. Continuing we go up the city to the fortress of Sacsayhuamán, an imposing construction with megalithic stones. We delve deeper into Inca architecture visiting Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay. Finally, we visit the Cathedral of Cusco, the most important temple in the city.

Day 3: Mountain of Colors VININCUNCA by short route – Cusco (Breakfast and Lunch)

We start our walk at 4:20 am. Pick up from the hotel and we go to the south of Cusco, we will pass through small towns and communities that are on the journey, from there continue along a carriage trail with a slight ascent and appreciate Andean camelids such as alpacas and llamas until we reach the starting point of the walk, Llacto (4300 masl). We begin our walk of gradual ascent at a moderate pace, a determining factor in the physical condition of the passenger. You will be able to see community members of the area in their typical clothing and interact with them. After walking approximately 2 hours we will arrive at our fantastic attraction, the Rainbow Mountain or Vinincunca at 5200 masl. You will have enough time to enjoy the place, explore, take photos and recharge your batteries accompanied by the imposing snow-capped “Apu Ausangate”. At the appropriate time we begin the return by the same return that came with a walking time of 1 hour to reach the transport that will take us back to Cusco. Breakfast and lunch will be during the route. (If you don’t want to walk all the way, you can avoid it by renting a horse from the locals, at an average additional cost of 100 soles)

Day 4: Turquoise lagoon of HUMANTAY – Cusco (Breakfast and Lunch)

Day 5: Cusco – Sacred Valley of the Inkas Vip: Moray and Salineras with Chincheros – Ollantaytambo – Pisaq (Breakfast and Lunch)

We start our walk at 8:20 am. Pick up from the hotel and we will go to the surprising sacred valley of the Inkas, made up of archaeological sites located in its course that accompanies the Vilcanota river. The first point of visit is the typical craft market of the inhabitants of Ccorao, you can take pictures with their llamas and enjoy the Andean craft markets. We continue our journey to appreciate the magnificent view of the Sacred Valley of the Inkas from the Taray viewpoint. Then we go to visit Pisaq, made up of immense agricultural terraces, housing enclosures and stone warehouses; to tell the whole story of this fantastic site and take photos. Then we go to Urubamba, place of lunch, to savor the rich and varied Peruvian food. On the way we pass through many towns that to this day maintain their gastronomic customs that we will tell you about. We continue our visit to Ollantaytambo, known as the living Inka city, a beautiful example of urbanization with Inka canals made of stone and considered a military, religious and cultural center that remains to this day. After visiting the entire complex, we moved to the Ollantaytambo train station to travel by train to Aguas Calientes, in tourist service (4:36 p.m.). Forbidden to sleep because during the train trip there will be landscapes, archaeological sites and a lot of vegetation. (18h10 pm) Upon arrival our staff will be waiting for you to take you to your selected hotel. (The transfer to the hotel is on foot for 5 minutes, because there are no cars in Aguas Calientes because it is a very small town.)

*You can take a walk through this town that is located in the middle of the mountains and at the foot of Machupicchu. Aguas Calientes has thermal baths that are relaxing and give rise to the name of the city; We recommend visiting the thermal baths, having dinner and resting.

Day 6: We start the famous Inka trail – Wayllabamba (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

We begin our adventure on the classical Inka trail through the Andes of Peru, to reach Machupicchu.

*One day before you will have a meeting with our official guide who will accompany and guide you during these 4 days. We will give precise information about the walk, distances to walk, what to take and how to be prepared.

We begin the famous Inka walk. (5:30 a.m.). Pick up from the hotel to travel to Piskakucho or Km82, during the trip we will pass through towns of Chinchero, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival we will pass the checkpoints. At the beginning we will go through small archaeological sites until we reach Patallacta, a city of great importance in the time of the Inkas. We continue the walk until we reach Miskay, place of delicious lunch and a short rest. We restart our walk to reach the first camp, Wayllabamba. Afternoon tea with pop corn, biscuits and hot drinks before dinner.

Day 7: Wayllabamba – Warmiwañuska – Pacaymayo (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

After breakfast, we continue our trek to Pacaymayo, the most difficult climb being the first 3 hours until we reach Warmiwañuska (dead woman). This place has the feeling of having reached the highest point and also visualizing all the beauty of the landscape. After a brief rest, we resume our walk to descend to Pacaymayo, to have lunch, where everything will be ready to accommodate us in the tents. Afternoon tea before the delicious dinner.

Day 8: Pacaymayo – Phuyupatamarca – Wiñayhuayna (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)

After breakfast, we continue our walk and begin to ascend to the second pass known as «Abra de Runcurakay» (3970 masl), where we will visit the very important archaeological site. After a brief tour we arrive at Sayacmarca, important for its structure and place for lunch. After a comforting lunch we continue observing the vegetation and geography of the place, becoming dry and mountainous. We will go through tunnels of solid rocks, during the way to reach the city between the clouds «Puyupatamarca», a place of much fog. We continue our way to Wiñayhuayna, where we descend to 2700 meters above sea level, which has Inka terraces known as platforms, religious and urban sectors. Afternoon tea before dinner.

Day 9: Wiñayhuayna – Machupicchu – Cusco (Breakfast and Lunch)

We leave very early for the Inca citadel of Machupicchu. We start a short walk to reach Intipunku (Puerta del Sol) and see the sunrise. From this place you can see Machupicchu in all its splendor, then we begin to descend to reach the Inca citadel. It will be an unforgettable experience, where our Guide will tell you the whole story that surrounds the mysterious Inka citadel in PRIVATE . You will have free time to take photos, as well as the classic COVER photo of Machupicchu (As you see in the image below).  We are going to walk through its incredible terraces, stairways, ceremonial precincts, main square, royal quarters, temple of the three windows and urban areas. Then at the indicated time we descend by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, to have lunch at the Café Inkaterrra Restaurant. (Lunch a la carte). In the afternoon, travel by train to return and then transfer to your Hotel in Cusco.

Day 10: Transfer to the Airport – Return to Ecuador (Breakfast)
